During his tenure at Norwest, Art was a member of deal teams investing nearly $250 million in 18 companies. He served on the Board of Directors for five portfolio companies and invested in a variety of industries including media, manufacturing, communications and distribution.

Earlier in his career, Art founded and financed Computer Guidance Group, a five-person technology-consulting firm. As the company’s president, Art generated new business and led project teams on behalf of the firm. His major clients included Norwest Venture Capital, Bankers’ Systems, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Minnesota Twins. Art also was a management consultant for two and a half years with Arthur Andersen in its Professional Sports Practice, where he developed key expertise in strategic planning and financial modeling.

Art serves on the Board of Heartland Communications, Asset Recovery Corporation, All-Flex, Circuit Check, XL Specialized Trailers and the American Center for Philanthropy.

He holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame, where he served as head athletic manager and personal assistant to head coach Lou Holtz during his junior and senior years.

While growing up on his family’s farm in Manchester, Iowa, Art was a multi-sport athlete. He continues his enthusiastic support of Fighting Irish football, attending several games each year. He also is an assistant coach of the Northfield Raiders high school football team. His wife Emily and their three boys make their home in Northfield, Minnesota.
